Third-Party Verification

Management systems certification

Management systems certification provides independent third-party assurance that an organisation’s management system conforms to specified requirements and is implemented effectively. Certification is voluntary unless required by contract, tender, customer or law.

SCOPE NOTICE

A standard appearing on this website does not by itself mean BSQC is accredited or currently able to certify every sector or location. The quotation and certificate must identify the exact standard, scope, sites, scheme and accreditation status.

Integrated management systems

Where an organisation operates two or more genuinely integrated management systems, BSQC may plan a combined audit. Audit time may be adjusted only after considering the level of integration, common processes, shared documentation, competence needs, risk and scheme rules.

What certification does—and does not—mean

  • It confirms that sampled evidence supported conformity with the stated requirements at the time of assessment.
  • It does not guarantee every product, service, transaction or future outcome.
  • It does not transfer legal or operational responsibility from the certified organisation to BSQC.
  • It does not replace regulatory inspections, licences, approvals or product testing.
  • It remains valid only while the organisation continues to meet scheme and surveillance requirements.
Agreed Criteria Audits

Quality assurance and independent audit

Assurance designed around the decision you need to make. Not every engagement requires management-system certification. BSQC provides independent assurance and audit services against agreed criteria so boards, owners, customers, procurement teams and project sponsors can make better-informed decisions.

Quality assurance assessment

A structured review of whether defined operational, governance or service-quality controls are appropriately designed, implemented and evidenced. The deliverable may include an assurance report and, where the scheme permits, a time-bound BSQC Quality Assurance Certificate or Statement of Conformity.

Second-party and supplier audit

Independent assessment commissioned by a customer, buyer or principal to evaluate a supplier against contractual, technical, ethical, safety, environmental or management-system criteria.

Process and operational audit

A process-level examination of control design, responsibility, records, performance indicators, interfaces and corrective action. Suitable for multi-site operations, franchising, service delivery and standard operating procedures.

Compliance and governance review

An evidence-based review against a defined legal, contractual, policy or governance framework. BSQC does not provide legal opinions unless a separately appointed qualified legal professional is expressly included.

Project and programme assurance

Independent checkpoints over governance, milestones, deliverables, risk, change control, quality acceptance and benefits tracking.

Pre-assessment

A limited review of readiness against certification criteria. It reports gaps but does not design solutions, provide consultancy or guarantee certification.

Typical Deliverables

  • Confirmed objective, criteria, scope, locations, period and exclusions.
  • Audit plan and evidence-sampling approach.
  • Opening and closing meetings.
  • Findings classified against published definitions.
  • Executive summary, evidence trail and risk-ranked findings.
  • Corrective-action requirements and verification method.
  • Assurance statement or certificate only where scheme criteria are met.

Finding Classifications

Classification Website definition
Major nonconformity A systemic failure, absence of a required control, or condition creating significant doubt that intended outcomes can be achieved.
Minor nonconformity A limited failure that does not indicate systemic breakdown but must be corrected.
Observation A factual matter that may merit attention but is not, on available evidence, a nonconformity.
Opportunity for improvement A non-prescriptive area where performance may be strengthened. The client remains responsible for choosing action.
Conformity Objective evidence demonstrates that the relevant requirement is met.
